Germans lost the keys -- to a nuclear plant!

A nuclear plant in Philippsburg announced that it had lost the keys to its own top security areas.
The keys have been missing since March 10, when a boneheaded mechanic used them to enter a room with an emergency power generator. Because he is a bonehead, he doesn't remember where he put the keys down.
EnBW, the company that owns the plant, waited a week before informing the police. Authorities immediately launched an investigation.
Fortunately, the locks have since been changed, and EnBW issued a statement to reassure a skittish German public.
"We have a diverse, multi-hierarchy security system in place," the company wrote.
However, a spokesperson from the Ministry of Environment still wasn't happy. "We received no explanation as to why it took so long to report the occurrence," he said.
But no matter how badly the Germans bungle, they can't hold a candle to U.S. nuclear labs. Two years ago, it was reported that literally hundreds of keys to sensitive security areas were missing.
