A South Carolina Republican fanatic wants to make sex toys illegal.
Republican Representative Ralph Davenport of Boiling Springs, S.C., proposed the new law to make common vibrators illegal under the state's primitive obscenity laws.
Despite recent migrations of educated people to South Carolina's coastal communities, most of the state is a primitive backwater where blacks live in near slavery and whites live in illiterate poverty.
Davenport refused to talk to South Carolina reporters about his mission to make sex devices a crime.
