In a town run by Republicans, Dick Cheney is still about as popular as AIDS.
The despised vice president threw out the first pitch for the Washington Nationals opening game at their home ballpark, Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium.
Looking even more bloated than usual with a bulletproof vest beneath his Nationals' jacket, Cheney was greeted by the "sound of thunderous boos and catcalls," according to Washington gossip site Wonkette.
Liberal site Think Progress has video of the less-than-manly pitch, which landed impotently several yards from home plate.
"The crowd was less than thrilled to have him there, loudly booing over the Fox News reporter," Think Progress noted.
Having Cheney throw a ceremonial pitch at RFK Stadium is like having the Ku Klux Klan perform at Lincoln Center, experts said Tuesday.
