A new survey draws a grim picture of the American office place. It also highlights workers' greatest pet peeves.
Almost two out of every fiveAmericans, 38%, regularly skip their lunch break, opting instead to eat at their desk.
Nearly as many, 33% work overtime without additional compensation and 31% work on Sundays.
One of the most aggravating realities of the workplace is "that guy," the loud person in the office who voice booms above all other sounds.
Worse still is the public reprimand. Inexplicably, some managers still don't understand that people don't like getting chewed out in public.
But the greatest pet peeve, cited by 44% of the 2,318 employed adults surveyed, was the condescending tone.
Gee, really? People don't like being talked down to? Why, does it hurt your "feelings"? All that crying ain't gonna get that TPS report filled out...
I personally enjoy the public reprimand, and condescending tones. I thought that was a fringe benefit.
